Frequently Asked Questions

We’re frequently asked questions about the 400 Series. Here’s the answers to some of our most common questions. If we haven’t been able to answer your questions, please contact us.

What makes the 400 Series superior?

The 400 Series is not designed to rival low-cost and low-quality competitors, whose products are often imported, but is instead intended to offer a ‘value alternative’ to our flagship range, the 600 Series. We still use the highest quality components, the most modern manufacturing techniques, and the best paint finish.

How is the 400 Series made?

The 400 series is made from high-grade CR4 mild steel. The cabinets are pre-treated with an anti-corrosive coating and finished with an architectural-grade epoxy resin paint in a process certified by Alxalta and AkzoNobel. High-quality components are used, and ABS work surfaces are fitted as standard, with optional 40mm beech or stainless steel worktops available upon request.

Where is the 400 Series designed and made?

Dura is a proud member of Made In Britain, designing and producing the 400 Series fully in-house, with the range subject to the same people and processes that have contributed to the success of our flagship product range, the 600 Series.

The 400 Series has been designed by our Red Dot Design winning team in Brackley and is engineered, tested and produced using world-class manufacturing machinery at our own facility in Plymouth.

Do I need to assemble my furniture before installing?

No, except for the workbenches, all 400 Series items are delivered pre-assembled by our factory’s expert assembly team who simultaneously check the quality of all parts and components during the process.

The 400 Series has been designed around ‘DIY’ installation, though, with a PDF installation guide sent to you prior to your delivery. If you would prefer a hands-off approach, we do offer a professional installation service. For more details on this service, please contact us.

How long does the 400 Series take to install?

The 400 Series has been designed for two people to install one of our packages within just a few hours, with installation time varying depending on the number of items within the package and the installation location. You will be sent a PDF installation guide prior to your delivery.

If you would prefer a hands-off approach, we do offer a professional installation service. For more details on this service, please contact us.

How can I buy the 400 Series packages, and can I buy custom configurations or single items?

Initially, we are only offering our predefined packages for online purchase. This allows us to reliably control the process and account for factors such as shipping costs.

However, as seen within our brochure, we offer the opportunity to purchase whatever items you like – whether that be a single item or full custom configuration. If one of our packages does not meet your requirements, please contact us.

How Long Does Delivery Take?

The 400 Series is made to order, with our normal lead times around four weeks. We will contact you to arrange a specific delivery date.
